After sitting in Marathon, FL for 3 weeks we finally got a weather window to cross to the Bahamas. We anchored off Angelfish Creek along with 4 other sailboats who are Bahamas bound. Take a look at this sunrise as we all got underway.

As we neared the entrance to Bimini Sands marina you could also see North Bimini and Alicetown.

The dockmaster met us with the paperwork to clear customs. And, moored right next to us were friends of friends - Carol and Dan Rohr. Small world. In my sunrise photo, that's Dan & Carol's boat, M/Y Lucky Starts. Dan & Ted took the 5 minute taxi ride to the airport to clear in with customs.

We had hoped to get underway this morning and cross the Bahama Bank. The weather was not in our favor. We decided to take the ferry over to Alicetown and walk around a bit. M/Y Sojourner, another Defever, was moored at the Blue Water marina.

So, once again the weather gods have ruled against us until possibly Thursday.
Here's a couple satellite views for a little more perspective on where we are in the Bahamas.
